2006 Chanticleer Cuvee
92 points ROBERT PARKER
Chanticleer Vineyard
The 2006 Chanticleer Cuvee is a bold and expressive wine made
from fruit from the Chanticleer Vineyard in the heart of the
Templeton Gap on the Westside of Paso Robles. The vineyard is
planted to Syrah, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah and Grey Wolf gladly
obtains 100 percent of the fruit. Strict viticulture practice ensures
ideal fruit flavors and quantity.
This wine is a blend of the most concentrated free-run juice of
Syrah and the latest harvest of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. Thus,
yielding a rich mouthfeel with a powerful finish. Due to an
extensive barrel program, this wine contains vast amounts of
delicious oak flavors, which supports the intensity of the fruit. Not
a wine to be trifled with. Cheers!
